The purpose of Blizzon Teas
A beautiful aroma can be created in many ways.
We chose the less travelled path.
Open a box of flavoured tea and the fragrance may arrive before the tea does.

Why real ingredients matter
Character from the ingredients.
Not perfume added to persuade the senses.
Modern flavour technology can recreate almost anything—cinnamon without cinnamon, ginger without ginger, fruit without fruit. It makes production fast, predictable and perfectly suited to turning out container load after container load, each carrying exactly the same aroma.
There is nothing unusual about that approach. It is how much of the modern tea industry achieves consistency at scale.
But it is not how we wanted to make Blizzon.
If we call something Cinnamon Tea, we want true Ceylon cinnamon inside it. If we promise ginger, we want the warmth to come from real ginger, supported by black pepper and long pepper. If we introduce you to iramusu, we want you to experience the botanical itself—not merely a flavour designed to imitate it.
We want the character of the cup to come from its ingredients, not from perfume added to persuade the senses.
Our starting point
Because tea should be a pleasure—not a prescription.
Blizzon began with a belief that the smallest moments of happiness often matter most.
A quiet cup before the day begins. A refreshing glass over ice in the afternoon. A familiar aroma after a demanding day. These moments may be simple, but they can change how the day feels.
That is why enjoyment always comes first.
Functional tea is often presented as something worthy but difficult—something you drink because it is supposedly good for you, rather than because you genuinely enjoy it. We saw no reason to accept that compromise.
A purposeful tea should still be fragrant, satisfying and full of character. It should invite you back for another cup.
At Blizzon, functionality does not mean covering the package with dramatic promises. It means that every ingredient must have a genuine reason to be there.
The tea brings depth and structure. Cinnamon contributes its natural warmth and sweetness. Ginger and peppers bring brightness and a lively finish. Iramusu and licorice create an earthy, softly rounded character.
Real botanicals offer more than aroma alone. They bring their naturally occurring plant compounds, their distinctive sensory qualities and generations of use within food and traditional herbal cultures.
That is genuine value an imitation flavour cannot provide.
Born in Sri Lanka
A story that begins in Ceylon.
Blizzon could only have begun in Sri Lanka.
For generations, this island has been known around the world for Ceylon tea. But Sri Lanka’s botanical story reaches far beyond the tea leaf.
Cinnamon, ginger, pepper, iramusu and many other plants are woven into our food, our homes and our traditional understanding of everyday wellbeing.
We bring that knowledge together with expressive Ceylon tea—not to make something old-fashioned, but to create a contemporary cup with an unmistakably Sri Lankan soul.
Not novelty for its own sake.
A more honest, enjoyable and purposeful way to experience Ceylon.
Nature has a signature
Nature does not manufacture identical copies.
Real tea, spices and botanicals are agricultural ingredients. They respond to rain, sunshine, soil, elevation and season.
One harvest may be slightly more aromatic. Another may carry a little more warmth, brightness or depth.
Within our quality standards, we welcome these subtle differences. We would rather preserve the living character of genuine ingredients than force every batch into artificial sameness.
A personal standard
Made to a standard we would serve at home.
We ask a simple question before placing the Blizzon name on a product:
Would we confidently serve this to the people we love?
That question keeps quality personal.
It reminds us that behind every carton is a real person preparing a cup—a parent, a friend, a professional taking a brief pause, or someone simply searching for tea that tastes different for the right reasons.
Blizzon Cinnamon Tea received Great Taste recognition in 2024. Iramusu Tea followed in 2025. We are grateful for that independent recognition, but awards are not the final measure of what we make.
The true test
An ordinary moment,
made more blissful.
The true test happens in a quieter moment:
When you lift the cup and notice the aroma.
When the first sip tastes as genuine as the ingredients listed on the box.
When something made with purpose also gives you pleasure.
And when, for a few unhurried minutes, an ordinary part of your day feels a little more blissful.
That is why we make Blizzon.
